Portsmouth Rough Riders Football and Cheer Camp

The Notre Dame Titans will hold a football and cheer camp with the Portsmouth Rough Riders Saturday, July 23, 2016 at historic Spartan Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth, Ohio.

The camp is open to boys and girls in grades second through eighth, and will focus on fundamentals and sportsmanship.

Camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at noon.

Cost is $30 per child and $25 for each additional child within the same family.

Each camper will receive a lunch along with a camp t-shirt to commemorate the event.

Registration for the camp will take place an hour before camp, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Spartan Municipal Stadium, as well as at all Portsmouth Rough Riders Football and Cheerleading sign-up locations.

Shultz Creek Field 50th Anniversary

Shultz Creek Field in South Shore, Kentucky will be celebrating its 50th season anniversary, Saturday, July 23, 2016. The celebrations will include two baseball games to honor the history of adult amateur baseball in the Ohio River Valley.

A special “Legends” game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, followed by a game between the Shutlz Creek Bearcats and Morehead, which has a 7:30 p.m. first pitch.

Former MLB umpire Terry Craft and MLB pitcher Don Gullett will also be on hand for the festivities.

Admission is free for both games. Seating is also available as a new grandstand was recently completed for the celebration. Concessions will be made available for purchase.

Soccer officiating class offering

Chris Hedrick and Dan Fetty will be teaching a classes for individuals wishing to become soccer officials. The classes will be held July 28-30 and August 4-6, 2016 at the Newberry Sporting Goods’ conference room in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Cost for the classes is $130.00, which includes all instructional materials and license.

Registration must be completed online at www.ohsaa.org and clicking on the “Officiating” tab. All individuals need to register by July 25, 2016 and will also need to pay the class fees online.
