Clay dominates Wellston, 13-2

Tessa Carter and Rachel Cooper hit round trippers while Jensen Warnock stifled the opposing batters as Clay beat Wellson 13-2 Thursday night.

Clay (20-3, 12-0) was led offensively by Carter and Cooper. Carter went 1-for-5 with two RBIs and Cooper completed her night going 3-for-4 with two RBIs with both ladies hitting their aforementioned home runs.

Warnock only needed to pitch two innings to secure the victory, allowing one earned run and striking out two.

The Panthers return home Monday to face Symmes Valley on senior night.

Kayleigh Coleman allowed one hit over seven shut-out innings as the West Senators beat the Portsmouth Trojans 7-0 Thursday.

Offensively, West was led by senior Hannah Mayberry who finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Hayleigh Throckmorton and Makayla White both collected a hit and an RBI apiece.

The Notre Dame Titans collected 19 hits over five innings to beat the East Tartans 19-2 at the VA Stadium in Chillicothe Thursday.

Notre Dame scored 12 runs in the first inning and seven in the third to win in a route.

Drew Cassidy had a strong offensive performance, going 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Tyler Speas — who picked up the victory, allowing two runs (one earned) — went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs.

Sam Kayser went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBIs while Hayden Baker finished his night going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
