Lady Panthers top Tigers, 13-2

The Clay Lady Panthers defeated the New Boston Lady Tigers Monday evening in an SOC I showdown.

Clay sent Julia Swain to the mound to face the Lady Tigers. The Lady Panthers hurler went the distance, pitching all five innings in the game. She gave up four hits, two runs, both earned, and no walks. Swain, who got her first win of the season, also racked up nine strikeouts against the Lady Tigers.

Tressa Carter led the Lady Panthers at the plate Monday evening, going 3-3 and hitting two home runs. She drove in four runs, and scored three times.

Jensen Warnock and Bre Donahoe each had a pair of hits. Warnock had a double and drove in a pair of runs, while scoring once. Donahoe also picked up an RBI against the Lady Tigers.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 11-3 overall, with a still perfect 8-0 SOC I record.

Both teams will take to the diamond on Wednesday for the second and final game of the series, at New Boston. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
