Lady Pirates top Mohawks, 21-3

The Wheelersburg Lady Pirates defeated the Northwest Lady Mohawks 21-3 in five innings Tuesday night at Northwest High School.

Wheelersburg had 20 total hits in the contest, with one batter walked and another hit by a pitch.

Faith Howard pitched all five innings for the Lady Pirates, giving up three runs, two of which were earned. She only allowed four hits, while walking zero, and striking out nine Northwest batters.

The Lady Pirates had a huge first inning, scoring 11 runs to start out the game. They added another run in the second inning, and then added eight runs in the third inning, before getting their final run in the fifth.

Northwest was able to score two runs in the fourth inning, and then scored their third run in the fifth.

Wheelersburg remains unbeaten after defeating Northwest. The Lady Pirates are 6-0 overall, and 4-0 in the SOC II.
