Falcons soar to 14-0 win

PIKETON – The Minford Falcons gained a big win over the Piketon Redstreaks Tuesday evening in Piketon. On a shortened five-inning game, the Falcons shutout the Redstreaks 14-0.

Ian Tolle was electric from the mound Tuesday evening in Piketon. Aside from being the pitcher of record and getting the win, Tolle only gave up two hits thes entire game, and didn’t walk a single batter. He also showed his dominance by striking out eight Piketon batters in the game.

Two Falcons had three-hit games, Eli Daniels and Matt Gullett. Daniels went 3-3 at the plate with a double, and drove in three runs. Gullet was 3-4 hitting, and drove in one run.

Jared Alley knocked in two runs for the Falcons going 2-4 from the plate and hitting a homerun.

Minford had two other players with two hits, Kody Kennedy and Hayden Scott.

The Falcons were held to just two total runs through the first two innings, before scoring six runs each in the third and fourth innings.

The contest was called due to score differential, with the Falcons picking up a 14-0 win, bringing their record to 4-2.

Minford will travel to West Portsmouth to take on the Senators in an SOC II clash on Friday evening. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
