Titans top Panters, 59-43

The Notre Dame Titans traveled to Clay High School Tuesday night, and came out with a win over their SOC I rival, the Panthers.

The Titans were led in scoring by Trevon Turner, who ended the night with 25 points. Turner hit both of Notre Dame’s three-pointers, and shot 70% from the free throw line, hitting seven of his 10 attempts.

Isiah Johnson and Hattachai Buttayotee also reached double figures for the Titans, scoring 12 points each. Johnson scored six of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, and hit two of his four free throw attempts. Buttayotee had a good second quarter scoring half of his point total, and was a perfect two for two from the foul line.

The Panthers had a pair score in double figures.

Anthony Williams led Clay with 13 points against the Titans, while Nate Hinze added 10 points. Hinze had two big three-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Panthers.

Clay will face another SOC I foe on Friday night as they travel to Glenwood High School in New Boston to take on the Tigers. Game time is scheduled to start around 7:30 p.m.

The Titans will host the Symmes Valley Vikings on Friday night, as the two SOC I teams go to battle a few days before tournament pairings. Tipoff is set for about 7:30 p.m.
