Lady Titans stop Roney, Eagles

The Notre Dame Lady Titans held off the Eastern Lady Eagles Thursday night at Eastern High School in Beaver. After picking up yet another SOC win, Notre Dame continued its pursuit of perfection in the SOC by improving to 13-0 in conference matchups.

Carson Roney packed the Lady Eagles on her back and tried to take them to victory over the Lady Titans. Despite her team leading 43-point night, Roney and the rest of the Lady Eagles were unable to stop Notre Dame, losing to the Lady Titans 68-64.

Roney hit 12 two-point field goals, and three three-pointers, along with going 10 for 14 from the free throw line. Olivia Hatfield finished with nine points, second best for Eastern on the night.

Notre Dame had a much more balanced attack than Eastern on Thursday evening. Hagen Schaefer led the Lady Titans with 23 points.

Ragen Kayser came up big for Notre Dame finishing the night with 18 points, including 11 that came in the second half.

Lexi Smith earned a double-double against Eastern, scoring 14 points, and pulled down 12 rebounds.

The Lady Eagles will be off until Thursday night, when they take on the Glenwood Lady Tigers at Eastern High School. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.

Notre Dame will host the East Lady Tartans on Thursday evening. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
