The Wendy’s Classic at Portsmouth High School continued this past Monday, for a second day full of high school basketball. One of Monday’s games included a matchup between the Valley Indians and the Portsmouth Trojans. In that game, the Valley Indians rallied from a three point deficit going into the fourth quarter to defeat the Trojans 60-52.
Valley’s 21-point fourth quarter lifted the Indians over the Trojans, who led at the end of every quarter through the rest of the game.
Bryan Rolfe led the Indians in scoring Monday, as he ended the day with 30 points, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter. Rolfe also hit five threes in the contest.
The Indians had one other player reach double figures, Blake Howard. His 10 points assisted in the win over the Trojans.
The Trojans also had two players reach double figures, Kyre Allison, and Ethan Leonard. Allison led Portsmouth with 20 points on the night, and shot 75% from the free throw line, hitting three of his four attempts. Leonard put up 12 points for the Trojan cause, in their loss to Valley.
Allison and Leonard combined for six three-pointers in the contest, each hitting three.
