The Eastern Lady Eagles picked up a key road SOC win Monday night, when they defeated the Green Lady Bobcats, 48-31.
It was a one woman show for the Lady Eagles. Eastern’s Carson Roney gave the Lady Bobcats trouble all night long, scoring 23 points by the final buzzer.
Green head coach Melissa Knapp said her team is getting better every day, but several things still need to be polished.
“Until we fix our defense and get the intensity we need every trip down the floor, we are going to continue to struggle,” Knapp said.
Rebounding is another issue for the Lady Bobcats, according to Knapp.
“Although most teams are bigger than us, if we get in position to rebound and box out there is no reason for any team to out rebound us,” Knapp said.
Kaylynn Blizzard had a great night for the Lady Bobcats. Blizzard had a double-double on the evening, bringing down 10 rebounds, and led scoring with 17 points for Green.
Adrian Hall also helped the Lady Bobcat cause as she scored nine points on the evening, with six coming from three-pointers.
Up next for the Lady Bobcats will be a Thursday road trip to Sciotoville as they take on the East Lady Tartans. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Eastern will host the Western Lady Indians Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
