Students were tested in Japanese terminology of terms and techniques used in Japanese and Okinawan Karate-Do, the stances, blocks, kicks, and strikes, self defense techniques, open hand and weapons Katas and Kumite (fighting) that they are required to know for the rank that they tested for. To be eligible to test, students are required to run a specific distance which increase with each rank that they will test for as well as a specified number of pushups, situps, squats and other physical requirements. The students who were promoted with their rank in the photo are: front row (l-r) Madelyn Bennett - orange, Brady Warnock - yellow, Isaiah Barnes - yellow, Andrew Campbell - yellow and Jaekyn Ridout - green.
