Wheelersburg volleyball gets back on track

After losing four of their last five matches, the Wheelersburg volleyball team bounced back with a sweep of Portsmouth West at home on Tuesday evening. The Pirates prevailed 25-13, 25-15, 25-12.

Senior Sydney Holden led the way for Wheelersburg, coming up with a team-high 14 kills. Marley Hanzel (eight kills) and Sam Vallance (seven kills) also had big days offensively.

The offense and defense ran through setter Kasey Bergan, who came through with 25 assists and six digs. Catie Johnson led the way for Wheelersburg in the service game with 17 points.

The Pirates take the court again on Thursday, when they travel to Lucasville to take on Valley. West is plays again Thursday, when they return home to face Waverly.
