The Notre Dame Titans kept their tournament run alive Saturday after claiming a Division IV District Final match over Southern in straight sets.
The lady Titan volleyball program advanced to the regional semifinals thanks to Lexi Smith who recorded 20 kills, seven blocked shots and 10 digs.
Aside from Smith, the Notre Dame offense was led by Hagen Schaefer who notched eight kills while dishing out 28 assists. Schaefer also recorded eight digs.
Defensively, Emma Monroe led the Titans with 11 digs while also contributing six kills to help the Notre Dame offense.
South Webster 3, Clay 2
The South Webster Jeeps beat the Clay Panthers in five sets to win a Division IV District Final match Saturday.
South Webster (20-5) was led by Brooklyn Sullivan who recorded 26 kills, 23 digs, six blocks, seven aces and 27 points. Hannah Spergin recorded 16 digs and 12 points. The Facilitator for the Jeeps was Mikaylah Belford who dished out 49 assists. She also contributed 14 digs and eight points. Lauren Hill contributed seven points, eight kills, six blocks and four digs.
Avery Zempter and Olivia Messer also helped the Jeeps claim a district title. Zempter recorded five points, eight kills, 12 digs and three blocks. Messer contributed four points, six kills and 14 digs.
Despite the loss, several member of the Panthers had strong performances. Clay was led by Jense Warnock who recorded 14 kills, 30 digs and 41 service receptions. Delanie Gilliland contributed 13 kills and four aces. Defensively, Shaelyn Vassar contributed 30 digs while Jaelyn Warnock added 24 digs to her stat line.
