The West Senators battled the Minford Falcons down to the end Tuesday night but after the final ball hit the volleyball court, the Senators picked up a 3-2 victory in five sets.

West was led by Terra Butcher who recorded 11 kills. Hannah Dixon and Haleigh Throckmorton contributed with 11 and seven kills respectively. The facilitator of the group was Kayleigh Coleman who dished out 36 assists.

Defensively, Coleman was just as sharp, finishing with 15 digs to lead the Senators. The leader of the defensive group, however, was Gracie Evans who finished with 30 digs on the evening. Throckmorton also contributed defensively, finishing with 11 digs.

The Senators won the first and third set before having to prevail 15-13 in the final set.

“We played well throughout the night, but still experienced some inconsistencies throughout the game,” Senators head coach Brittany Sessor said. “The important thing to note here is the perseverance the entire team exhibited to finish. Even coming from behind at one point, the girls never gave up their desire to win.”
