In preparation for the upcoming sectional tournament to be held at the Shawnee Golf Course in Friendship, Ohio, Clay, Notre Dame, Ironton and Western High Schools met for a tune-up match for the sectional tournament.

The four-team match played the back nine holes of the Shawnee Golf Course. During the sectional tournament, each golfer will play a full 18-hole round, twice as much as a typical high school golf match of just nine holes.

Ironton took the tune-up round with a team score of 188. The Fighting Tigers were followed by Notre Dame, who finished with a 198 on the sunny and nearly 90 degree Wednesday late afternoon in Friendship.

Clay and Western finished the round with team scores of 201 and 234.

Western’s Broc Jordan earned low-medalist honors during Wednesday’s match. Jordan finished with a two-over-par 39 on the course’s back nine holes.
