Wednesday, May 16, was an exciting day at the Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth’s meeting, as the application to charter the first Aktion Club of the Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth was presented to President Jenny Lavender by the incoming President of the Aktion Club, Adrian Seymour. The Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth, in partnership with Scioto DD, is pleased to have the opportunity to charter the first “Aktion Club of Scioto County” with 41 new members.
More than 9,000 adults with disabilities around the world are involved in this Kiwanis-family program, developing leadership skills while working with others to help those in need.
Aktion Club empowers members to be themselves, work together with friends and implement plans through action. As an extension of Kiwanis International, Aktion Club shares the mission serving children around the world.
