Since February, longtime volunteer Carolyn Stidham has been leading craft classes at the Portsmouth Salvation Army. Those crafts will be on sale Friday at the Salvation Army to benefit their operations.
“Since February Carolyn has been holding weekly free craft classes, here on Tuesday afternoons,” said Mark Ferreira with the Portsmouth Salvation Army. “Carolyn tries to teach participants very practical things, from a beginning to moderate skill level.”
Ferreira said there are typically between three and 10 people in each class.
Stidham said some of the items available will include eyeglass cases, jewelry, pins, hand bags, Bible book bags and many others.
“We see these classes becoming part of the regular activities of the Salvation Army,” Ferreira said.
He said there will be live music at the sale and all proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1001 Ninth St., Portsmouth.
