The public is being invited to the annual Southern Ohio Task Force on Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil, Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the rotunda of the Scioto County Courthouse.

“Its a ceremony to remember the Scioto County death victims of domestic violence,” Lou Ann Hoffer, Co-Director of the Southern Ohio Task Force on Domestic violence, said. “And to honor the survivors, and to remind them had they not gotten out of their situation that that could be them.”

The speaker for the event with be Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware and Julie Ratcliff will sing.

“The public is invited to attend,” Hoffer said. “And any victims of domestic violence that would want to stand up and talk about their situation is encouraged to do so.”
