Katie Brandenberg and Bridget Evans traded in their cellular phone expertise for a while Friday to demonstrate their cooking prowess. Brandenberg and Evans are sales associates at the Verizon Premium Retailer, located at 2736 Scioto Trail in the Hilltop Center in Portsmouth.
“We’re having a little bit of a cookout,” Evans said. “We’re having some hot dogs, some potato chips and pop, just trying to do a little bit for the community.”
Beginning on Tuesday, it has been a busy week for the pair.
“We are celebrating our grand opening,” Brandenberg said. “We are very excited, trying to drum up a little bit of interest.”
Brandenberg said the store is missing some things like a marquee sign to help draw attention to their store, but she said the sign in on its way.
“We just wanted to invite people and get them as excited as we are,” Brandenberg said.
Brandenberg said the store has been open for just over six weeks.
“We have anything from cell phones to Internet,” Evans said. ‘We have a home phone connect which can take the place of your home phone. We have accessories, car chargers, you name it, we’ve got it.”
