The Southern Ohio Shrine Club installed their new officers for 2013 this month at the Shrine Oasis in Portsmouth. This year’s installation of officers was one of the largest installations ever held at the club.

Michael Osborne of the Southern Ohio Shrine Club said the event was attended by Syrian Potentate Randall Proctor and his Divan from Cincinnati, and El Hasa Potentate Carl S. Wellman, II and his Divan from Ashland, Ky., Local Nobles, and Guests.

Proctor installed John Underwood, along with his officers, and Wellman made a special presentation to the club in honor of Ron Lemaster, past Potentate of El Hasa and long time member of the Southern Ohio Shrine Club.

The officers for this year, in addition to Underwood, are Vice Presidents, Mike Crabtree and Chris Goins; Secretary John Locher, and Treasurer Michael Osborne. Members of the executive board are: Dr. William Wolery, Bob Kaylor, Rennie L. Osborne, Jay Foster, and Don Adams. The Trustees are Roger Allen, Chuck Darby, and James Elliott.

Osborne said the local Shrine Club has been active in the community since 1947, helping to raise funds for orthopedic children and children who have suffered burns in our area. A child sent the Shiner’s Hospitals are sent at no cost to the family. Any contributions to help in this support can be sent to SOSC Box 1052 Portsmouth, Ohio 45662. A contribution is tax deductable.
