Shirley Kraft of South Shore, Ky., went to be with her Lord on Oct. 31, 2009, after an extended illness.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1940, in Somerset, Pa., to the late Walter and Ruth Gashaw Miller. She was employed at AAA in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mrs. Kraft was an active member and organist for The First United Methodist Church of South Shore.

Mrs. Kraft is survived by her husband of 48 years, David G. Kraft. She is also survived by her two sons, David (Christina) Kraft of Stout, Ohio, and Douglas (Terena) Kraft of St. Paul, Ky.; and four grandchildren, Kristin Maryann Kraft, Aaron Matthew Kraft, Kameron Douglas Kraft, and Nathan Christopher Kraft. Mrs. Kraft also has one sister, Dorothy (Gerald) Deffenbaugh of Friedens, Pa.; and three brothers Don (Dorothy) Miller of Rose Hill, Kan., Robert (Martha) Miller of Somerset, Pa., and Gary (Kathy) Miller of Listie, Pa. She also has many special nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in South Shore, with Tami Coleman officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of South Shore or SOMC Hospice of Portsmouth.

We would like to send a special thank you to Mrs. Kraft’s church family, friends and neighbors, coworkers from AAA in Portsmouth, and the staff and caregivers of the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth.
