Mary Carter, 67

Mary Evelyn Carter, 67, of Portsmouth, went to meet her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Bridgeport Healthcare Center in Portsmouth. She was born on June 13, 1945, in Logan, WV to William and Mary (Smith) Carter. Evelyn went to school in Logan, WVa. and subsequently worked for Bihl’s Farm and the William Shoe Factory. She was of the Pentecostal faith, enjoyed doing crafts especially knitting, was a wonderful baker, and loved to play Bingo.

Evelyn is survived by two sisters, Patty Robbins of Sciotoville, Barbara Seibert (Calvin) of Minford; one brother, Roy Carter (Lou) of Sciotoville; many nieces and nephews, including special niece Patsy Linkous (David) of Minford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angie Lynn Carter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Robin Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 - 11 a.m. on the day of the funeral. WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME is handling the arrangements.
