Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Milford E. Clarke, age 33, of Jackson, and charged him with one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree, and having weapons under disability, a fifth-degree felony.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call Friday from a Back Street, Scioto Furnace residence that somebody had broken into a home there, and had stolen two firearms. Deputies responded to this location where a report was taken which resulted in an investigation.

Donini said during the investigation deputies were able to locate the two stolen guns that had already been sold. They were also able to locate the suspect who was detained for questioning and later arrested. Clarke was held on a $52,500 bond. Donini said more charges will be presented to a Scioto County grand jury at a later date.

He said anyone with any information concerning the burglary is being requested to contact Investigations at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 740-354-7566 . All calls will remain anonymous.
