Franklin Murphy Sr., 62
Franklin Terry Murphy Sr., 62, of McDermott, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Chillicothe VAMC.
He was born Oct. 30, 1950, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Arnold and Thelma Logan Murphy.
Terry was a retired welder for Buckeye Steel in Columbus and a US Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Howard Murphy, whom he married June 11, 1970, in South Shore, Ky; two daughters, Joetta Howard of McDermott and Terri (Jeremy) Pennington of Rainsville, Ala.; one son Franklin Terry Murphy Jr. of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers Donald Murphy of Miami, Fla., and Gary Murphy of South Carolina; and one sister, Bonnie Miller of Georgia.
Graveside military services will be conducted at noon, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Big Run Cemetery by the William A. Baker and James Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
