The remaining All-Ohio lists were released Wednesday evening and 12 area players earned state honors in Division V and another 12 were honored in Division VI.

Wheelersburg junior quarterback Eddie Miller III earned a spot on the Div. V First Team offense while Valley senior defensive lineman J.J. Hettinger was named to the Div. V First Team defense.

Miller rushed for 878 yards and 14 touchdowns and threw for 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2012. He averaged 198.6 yards through the air per contest and broke Wheelersburg’s single season passing yardage and passing touchdown records. The Pirates finished the season 8-3.

Hettinger was a force for the Indians defensively in 2012. He recorded 84 tackles, six sacks, eight tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and helped Valley to its second consecutive SOC II Title. He also did all this while starting both ways. The Indians finished the season 12-1.

Justin Dickens of Oak Hill earned a spot on the Third Team defense in Div. V.

In Div. VI, Justin Crager of East earned the highest honor of any area players being named to the Second Team offense. The senior quarterback rushed for 2,269 yards and 29 touchdowns and also threw for 298 yards.

A pair of Vikings from Symmes Valley made the Div. VI Third Team in Alec Herrell and Jacob Easthom.

Players in Div. V that earned Special Mention praise were Wheelersburg’s Dylan Miller, Tyler Claxon and James Hudgel along with Oak Hill’s Luke Hammond and Tyler Roach.

Valley’s Brandon Zimmer, Will Howard and Nate Arnett each earned Special Mention as well.

West’s Alec Meeker also earned a spot on the Div. V Special Mention list.

Notre Dame took occupancy in the Div. VI Special Mention list with five players earning honors. Titans Dakota Smith, Kevin Lewis, Daniel Ogg, Jack Kayser and Will Haney each earned a spot with their play in 2012.

Symmes Valley’s Austin Baldwin joined teammates Tyler Rowe and D.J. Miller on the Special Mention list.

Green’s Kaden Sampson also earned Special Mention praise in Div. VI.
