The Counseling Centers fourth annual Celebrity Dinner and Auction is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the SOMC Friends Center. Proceeds from the event benefits prevention and outreach services.

“We have to rely on fundraisers like this and the Natural High 5k to keep our summer outreach camp going. It’s a nine-week camp; there are a lot of activities that are pulled together for these kids. We have around 70 or 8o kids every summer and the camp is provided free to them,” said Susan McComas, director of resource development for The Counseling Center.

The Counseling Center offers a day camp from June to August each year at a local community park for children 5 to 12 years old. There are supervised games, arts and crafts, sports, field trips, job fairs and prevention education.

The theme for this year’s event is “Tour of Italy.”

McComas said there will be a line-up of celebrity chefs that include, Greg and Kim Bauer, Jim and Rebecca Yount, Dr. John Turjoman and Dr. Debbie Scurlock, Asa and Ann Jewett, Chip and Ginger Maillet, Judge Steve and Leasa Mowery, Scott Schmidt and Juice Schmidt, Elizabeth Blevins, Dr. Mary Oling Sisay, Dr. Terry and Jennifer Johnson and Jesse and Amanda Johnson.

Tickets are $30 limited to the first 300. There were more than 400 in attendance at last year’s event.

For more information, contact McComas at 740-354-3829 ext. 240.
