Betty Morgan, 91
Laura Elizabeth Morgan, 91, of Lucasville, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.
She was born April 7, 1921, in Buena Vista, Ohio; a daughter of the late Herbert G. Carroll and Lillie Hecker Carroll Jordan.
Betty was a retired sales person for Montgomery Ward in the appliance department, a member of the Lucasville Historical Society, and a former 4-H advisor. Betty was an active volunteer in many community organizations and a caregiver for many years. She was a former active member of Portsmouth Baptist Church and a current member of Cook Road Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Stephenson of Rotonda West, Fla., and Ruth Ann Buckler of Lucasville; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one sister Mauna Queen of Lucasville.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Morgan, Dec. 29, 2000; one great grandson; two brothers Charles and Frank Carroll; three sisters Dorothy Carroll, Eleanor Conkel, and Hazel Keller Rockwell; and one son-in-law, Donald Stephenson.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the Cook Road Baptist Church with Larry Parks and Oscar Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, and for an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
