Andrew E. “Buss” Lute, 92, of Pollock Road, McDermott, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 8, 1917, in McDermott, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde and Blanche Pollock Lute. On Feb. 1, 1940, he was united in marriage to Opal M. Armstrong Lute who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, James H. Lute of Otway, Ohio, Andy J. Lute and Jerry W. (Margie) Lute, all of McDermott, Ohio; one daughter, Carol A. (Tommy) Baker of Beckley, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Orbie Lute; three sisters, Violet McCleese, Elizabeth Miller and Lillian Hilderbrand.

Andrew was a retired equipment operator for the former Taylor Stone Company where he worked for 26 years and a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway, with the Rev. George Vastine officiating. Burial will follow in Lute Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by James Dickey American Legion Post 23. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
