Shawnee State University senior Alannah Sheets was named to the NAIA Division I All-Tournament Second Team as announced following the conclusion of the national championship game. Sheets was one of 10 players on all 32 teams honored as All-Tournament selections for their play during the NAIA Championship.
Sheets led the tournament in points per game as she averaged 31.5 points over the Bears’ two contests. She started off the tournament by matching her career high with 45 points in the upset win against No. 2 Oklahoma Baptist. She was 3-of-4 from beyond the arc in that game and got the to the free throw line a school record 22 times. She also came up with three steals in that contest.
In the Bears’ second round game against No. 3 Wiley (Texas), Sheets helped the Bears hang with the eventual NAIA Fab Four team as she scored 18 more points before a late Wiley run ended the Shawnee State season with an 81-70 loss.
