This weeks “getting to know” feature shines the spotlight on Minford senior Abby Fuhrmann. Falcons coach Scott Cayton selected Fuhrmann because of her overall character on and off the basketball court.
“I chose Abby Fuhrmann because she represents everything a student-athlete should be,” Cayton said. “She is an excellent student, a hard worker and her positive attitude is contagious among the members of our team. I am so proud of what Abby has accomplished, and I know her best and most important accomplishments are ahead of her.”

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
A hero in my life is my mom. She is always there for me and pushes me to do my best. She is also a great volunteer in the 4-H program, and I hope to be just like her when I grow up.
If you could meet any person, living or dead, who would you like to meet? Why?
If I could meet any person I would love to meet Carrie Underwood. She is such a talented, caring, and beautiful person. She has helped me and many others get through tough situations with her music, and I love her support of over 19 charities and causes.

I would spread the money around to multiple organizations, such as the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, local food banks, and the 4-H programs. I chose those charities because they have impacted my life as well as the lives of my family and friends.
