Girls Basketball

Minford 51, West 34

Brooklyn Yeley hit a game-high seven threes as the Minford Falcons beat West, 51-34, to improve their record to 2-2 on the season.

Yeley finished the contest with 24 points. Minford hit 11 three-point field goals as a team.

The Falcons return home Wednesday as Jackson comes to town.

Valley 50, South Webster 45

Valley picked up its fifth win in six attempts Monday after knocking off South Webster, 50-45.


Taylor Skaggs led the Indians attack with 15 points, 11 of those points coming after the intermission. Kamryn Conaway scored seven points, while also recording nine steals and 12 rebounds. Conaway came off the bench to give the Indians a spark.


Despite the loss, the Jeeps’ Kacie Hall led all scorers with 18 points.


Valley stays home Thursday as Waverly comes to town.

Waverly outlasted Northwest for its second win of the season, 35-27.

Hannah Martin sparked the Tigers with her 10 rebound effort. Martin also scored six points. Jordyn Corcoran chipped in with four points and eight rebounds in the winning effort.

Waverly travels Thursday to Valley.

Eastern defeated Green 77-16 Monday.

Carson Roney led all scorers with 32 points in the winning effort for the Eagles. Kayla Alley had 22 points for Eastern, including three three-point field goals.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 0-4 on the young season.

Green travels Thursday to East.

Clay 68, Notre Dame 61

Clay beat Notre Dame 68-61 to pick up its fourth win on the year.

Lexi Gilliland led all scorers with 23 points while adding 13 rebounds. Teammate Kattie redding added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers. Emily Widdowson scored 14 points to help Clay achieve the victory.

Despite the loss, Hagen Schaffer scored 19 points for the Titans while Brooke Pierron added 16 points, including four three-point field goals. Maggie Hoover scored 14 points and hit the other three three-point baskets for Notre Dame who knocked down seven treys as a team.

Clay will stay home Thursday as New Boston comes to town.
