In a battle of undefeated teams, Valley would prove to be the superior one as the Indians scored 47 unanswered points to cruise to a 62-29 victory over South Point.

Nate Arnett ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries and added an 11-yard pick-six to the statline. Sam Basham ran for 87 yards on just three totes while Austin Loop added 86 yards and a touchdown on five touches. Brian Rolfe was 5-of-8 passing for 98 yards and added three touchdowns of his own through the air in the win.

Valley will travel to Waverly to start their SOC II conference slate.

Austin Bricker ran for 108 yards on 18 carries with a score on the ground and Bryson Hurd added 53 yards rushing and three more rushing touchdowns as West won its second game in a row and moved to 2-3 on the season with a 42-0 nonconference win at Chesapeake.


Job Swords and Johnny Howell each had touchdown rushes while Dylan Koons added 62 yards on eight totes for the Senators. West’s defense was led by Tristian Welch who recorded a team-high nine tackles on the night. Josh Davis and Trevar Welch added eight and seven more tackles of their own respectively to lead the Senators to the win.


West will host undefeated Minford next Friday to kick off their SOC II conference slate.

Amin Gilbert rushed for 68 yards on 15 carries and Jake Henderson passed for 115 yards and a score, but it would not be enough as the Hornets beat the Tigers 35-27 behind Sid Tucker’s 137 yards. Tucker also added a touchdown for Coal Grove.

D.J. Miller added 112 yards and three scores for the Hornets on the ground. Waverly picked up 62 yards receiving from Gilbert and 53 yards and a score from Mason Chapman.

Waverly will entertain Valley in a SOC II conference matchup next Friday.
