In Christendom, prayer is a tool that many perceive as a spiritual discipline and tool that possesses the ability to create positive change. This is the message of the faith-based film, ‘War Room,’ scheduled to premier on Friday, Aug. 28 at Portsmouth 8 Cinema.

Tammi McGuire one of the managers at Portsmouth 8 Cinema, said the movie, ‘War Room’ deals with real life struggles that a family is trying to cope with.

“We have a couple really couple faith-based movies hopefully coming up here really soon,” McGuire said. “We have ‘War Room’ coming for sure, and it is a faith-based movie on the power of prayer. The movie is about a family in distress, a young married couple and the husband is battling temptation, and the wife is trying to get her faith back in line, and they meet an older woman who encourages them to make a ‘War Room,’ and to her a war room is on your knees in the battle with prayer.”

According to McGuire, the trailer of the film, ‘War Room,’ leaves the impression that the movie is a very compelling movie.

“Will the family survive, and can the power of prayer fix this, is the basis of the film, but I am sure that it deals with so much more than that,” she said.”The power of prayer in and of itself is a strong thing, and for anyone that has watched the trailer, the actress in the movie that prays continually is very powerful. Every time I watch the trailer I end up with goosebumps. Her prayer is true, and it is what the world today is searching for, and this is a great way to pass the message on that this movie is trying to get out, that everything is not necessarily fixable, but through the power of prayer, God can lead you in a direction where, if you listen, you can find the answers.”

Tickets for War Room are on sale now.

“We are encouraging church groups to give us a call. We can rent out the entire theater for youth groups, and church groups, and will be more than happy to accommodate them,” she said. “They just need to give us a call, and we will get it worked out with them.”

The other movie that we are hoping to get for special engagement is ‘Beyond the Mask.’ It is a revolutionary, faith-based movie that has excitement, and adventure, and on the other side of it, its got faith, and belief,” she said. “And again, deals with the power that Christ has to change a person’s life from one path to another. We are really hoping to get this one, but nothing is confirmed yet. The public just needs to give an indication that they want to see it, they can call us, on post their interest on our Facebook page.”
