WEST PORTSMOUTH — The ladies Bible study group from Dry Run Church of Christ took on a project with Wendy Williams ( Nursing Home Volunteer) ) Wendy had the idea of collecting cloth bags to hang on the residents walkers or wheelchairs to make it easier to carry their personal items from place to place. When visiting a nursing home she noticed they were trying to carry water bottles, phones, books, keys,, etc….The ladies at Dry Run Church of Christ got wind of this. Ella Cable contacted Wendy to help with this project. For a few months the ladies would meet once a month at the church bringing all their sewing machines and sew bags. Over 100 bags were made and ready to be stuffed with goodies provided by Leading Respiratory Services for the residents for Christmas! We are hoping to see some smiling faces when they receive these bags this Christmas.
