WHEELERSBURG — Local pastor and author, Sam Peters, is excited about the release his new book, “It’s Time: How to Make Positive Changes in Your Life.” The book focuses on helping people find the right motivation for improving their life and life style, from drugery and despair to hope and happiness.

Peters said his new book springs out of his dysfunctional childhood.

“I have been working on this book for a number of years off and on. It came out of my own background of just growing up as a kid in a dysfunctional environment. I was basically a pessimistic, angry young man who really wasn’t happy with my life, and was a product of my environment,” Peters said.

Peters said the turning point in his life came at age 20 when he became a Christian.

“At the age of 20 my whole life turned around. I became a Christian, and the Bible says that when you become a Christian you become a new creature, which I think more accurately it is becoming a new creature,” he said. “So I have spent more than half of my life working, and learning how to be a positive role model. I still have some lessons to learn,” he said.

He said he hopeful that the message in his book will inspire readers who are struggling with a different problems.

“I have talked to a lot of people, and they are just struggling. They are stuck, and they want to get unstuck. They are stuck in their jobs, they are stuck in their relationships, finances, and attitudes,” he said. “I wrote this book, so that people will understand that Jesus came to allow us to have the abundant life.”

He said abundance transcends a message of financial prosperity.

“It is not talking about some prosperity gospel. It is really about being happy and motivated in the skin that you are in, to quit feeling sorry for yourself, and quit looking at yourself as being a victim of circumstances. The title of the book is called ‘Its Time,’ and that’s really what I want to get across to people that it’s time to make some changes, its time to make some positive changes in your life,” he said. “A lot of folks are just tired of being sick and tired, but they don’t really know how to change their situation. This book was really written to give people a path to start down this journey of changing their lives to something that’s more positive, more enthusiastic, and that is why I wrote the book.”

He said he could not have completed the book without the help of his wife Joyce, who he calls his chief executive encourager. He and his wife have five children, and five grandchildren, whom he said he treasures.

In his newest book, Peters shares with the reader that how, when and where you think dramatically impacts their quality of life. He outlines the steps needed to be a more enthusiastic, positive and empowered leader. He shares with you the reason you’re failing by using will power alone.

Peters will be doing an exclusive book signing on Thursday, Aug. 21 from 5-8 p.m. at Praises Book Store located at 3644 Rhodes Ave. in New Boston. The public is encouraged to come and speak with Sam and get an autographed copy of his book while supplies last.
