Former Mayor of the village of Otway, Georgia Furr, passed away on Tuesday following a brief illness. She was84.

Furr was an active volunteer throughout her life. She was a former Otway Village Council member for twelve years, and former village mayor with ten years of service. Other activities included being active with the restoration and preservation of the Otway Covered Bridge, the Heritage Trails Association, the Otway Historical Society, and the annual Roy Rogers Festival in Portsmouth. She was also active worker at the Born Again Clothing in Otway, and a member of the Otway Community Church. Professionally she was a retired beautician.

Services will be held Saturday at the Otway Community Church Friends may call on Friday and Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway.
