Arrest made in Ashland, Ky. barricade incident

ASHLAND, Ky. — Kentucky State Police in Ashland arrested Larry L. Price, 47, of Olive, Ky. and charged him with Wanton Endangerment First Degree, Terroristic Threatening Third Degree, and Resisting Arrest, and lodged him in the Carter County Detention Center.
Accoording to the KSP, on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, a report was received by the KSP, Post 14 Ashland of an individual making threats and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner.
A KSP release said a female relative of Price had reached officers at Post 8 in Morehead, Ky. to file a report. Troopers were advised that Price was armed with a shotgun, and had made numerous threats to harm both she and any law enforcement officers that came to the residence.
Troopers responded and made contact with Price.
According to the KSP, Price made several threatening statements to Troopers and wasin possession of a firearm. Price refused to comply with all requests from law enforcement and barricaded inside his residence.
The KSP, Special Response Team was contacted and responded to the scene.
According to the KSP, communication with Price began and when Price failed to exit the residence non-lethal gas rounds were deployed into the residence. Entry was made following deployment of the gas Tuesday at approximately 3 a.m.
The KSP said Price continued to refuse to comply with requests from law enforcement.
According to the KSP, Trooper Jonathan Sizemore deployed his agency issued Taser. Price relented, complied with law enforcement and was arrested. Price was taken into custody and remains in the Carter County Detention Center.
