Three Columbus residents are facing felony drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday in Scioto County. One of them was transported to the hospital after having swallowed an undetermined amount of pills.

Troopers from the Jackson Criminal Patrol stopped a 2016 Toyota Camry on U.S. 23 southbound near mile post 5 at approximately 8:20 p.m. Tuesday evening for a traffic violation. After approaching the vehicle, troopers observed what they described as criminal indicators. The subsequent search revealed 84 grams of cocaine and 18 grams of heroin with an approximate combined street value of $10,200.

The driver, Sharee M. Barlow, 36, of Columbus, reportedly told troopers she swallowed an unknown amount of pills. She was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center by Valley EMS for observation. She was later released from the hospital and incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail.

The two passengers, Jamie L. Carson, 47 and Tabitha S. Smith, 34, both from Columbus, were also incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail. All three were charged with felony one possession of cocaine, felony two possession of heroin, and felony one drug trafficking.
