A Jackson, Ohio man has been charged in the abduction of a six-year-old girl. Zachary R. Dunn, 30, of Jackson has been charged with Child Abduction after the missing child was found on Friday.
Dunn was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, but Jackson County Municipal Court Clerk Diana Morris said the court did not receive the charges in time, and they expect to have that indictment this (Tuesday) morning at around 9 a.m.
Meanwhile, Dunn is being held on $50,000 bond in the Jackson County Correctional Facility pending that arraignment. According to the Jackson Police Department, Dunn could face other charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
According to Assistant Chief Maria A. Uribe, of the Jackson Police Department, Macey Stewart was released from Adena Hospital in Chillicothe on Saturday. Macey was placed in foster care pending a custody hearing which was scheduled to be held on Monday in Jackson County Juvenile Court. Her mother, Brenda Stewart, remain incarcerated on charges unrelated to the incident.
According to the Jackson Times Journal, Macey Stewart disappeared from the porch of her home Friday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. A full search of the area was made by authorities from several agencies. Then, shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, a Liberty Township woman contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to report that the child had showed up at her home.
The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) is assisting with the investigation.
