  1. Ciara’s Pick — Saturday, June 18, Grab the kids and head down the Farmer’s Market held between 9 a.m. and noon at the Roy Rogers Esplanade in downtown Portsmouth. Kids can get their healthy bucks and exchange them for locally grown fruits and veggies, parents can pick up groceries for the week, and there are plenty of other crafts, flowers, and organic beauty/skincare products as well. They also accepted EBT/SNAP benefits, making the event accessible for all.
  2. Portia’s Pick —Saturday, June 23, Pastor’s Pantry Cooking School will be hosting a ‘Big Easy’ cooking class at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased on their website. www.paterfamsauces.com Seats are limited and tickets will be sold until the class is full.

Chris’ Pick — Saturday, June 18, The Southern Ohio Medical Center’s pediatric guild will be hosting a “Touch-a-Truck” event where children can get a close up look at firetrucks, police cars, semi’s, a helicopter, a school bus and more. There will also be a special guest appearance by the Batmobile and Batman. The event will take place between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth Spartan Stadium. The cost is $2 per child, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
  4. Frank’s Pick —Thursday, June 23, The Portsmouth Business Fair will be held at the Portsmouth Welcome Center between 5:30 and 7 p.m. Have all your legal, financial, medical, and insurance questions answered by local business professionals free of charge.
