PAUL GARDNER

MCDERMOTT — Paul Gardner, 80, of McDermott, went home to be with the Lord On Wednesday June 8, 2016 at SOMC Hospice.

He was born September 5, 1935 in Rarden to the late Ida Garnett Gardner and Clarence Earl Gardner. He graduated from Rarden High School in 1954.

On October 27, 1956 he married Alice Wheeling in Richmond, Indiana and she survives him. Paul worked at Elano Corporation in Xenia as a Machinist for 17 years and retired from Candlewood Apartments in Wheelersburg after 28 years in Maintenance and Management. He attended Life Point Church where he enjoyed worshiping the Lord. He was a beloved husband and father who enjoyed working with his hands and he was regarded as “Mr. Fix It”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Robyn Moore (Brian) of Lafayette, IN and Susan Bueter (Rick) of Gahanna, OH, a brother, Maurice Edward Gardner (Helen) of Englewood, OH, four grandchildren; B.G. and Cheris Moore, and Jacob and Emily Bueter, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Gardner of Rarden, and his sister, Betty Abbott of Morrow.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Thursday June 16, 2016 at Melcher Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery in Pike County. Friends and relatives may call at Melcher Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
