Vision Center set to open in July

The Vision Center in New Boston will be moving in early July but the drive isn’t far from the old office.

They will be moving less than 1/4 of a mile from the old location, to a newly built office located at 3955 Rhodes Ave. in New Boston.

The office is set to open in early July. The new facility will have 4,600 square feet of space, a major step up from their old facility with just 2,100 square feet.

“We’re looking forward to Dr. DePugh and his son opening their new location,” said New Boston’s Mayor Junior Williams. “We’re glad they decided to stay here in New Boston. It’s a good match for them and for us, the new building is going to beautiful once it’s completed, and it’s strategically located here in the heart of the village.”

The project broke ground in November and has continued to see steady progress in the construction of the building.

DePugh said the practice will have more exam rooms, more testing rooms and more new equipment that is being brought in for the new location.

“We’re really excited, looking forward to it,” Dr. David DePugh said. “It’s going to be state-of-the-art. A lot of the equipment we use, it is going to be automated and computerized where they all kind of talk to each other and send the information from the exam rooms straight into the computer. Things that we haven’t been able to do and network in that manner and it will shoot the information to the different stations and automatically into the patient’s chart.”

The new practice will also help the economic development in New Boston.

“From what I’ve heard, Dr. DePugh will be almost doubling his staff, so of course the new office has created jobs in our area and that’s always a good thing,” said Mayor Williams. “His son Jeremy will also be joining the practice, and with the new space and staff they’ll be able to accommodate more people and drive traffic to New Boston.”
