Robbery suspect apprehended in West Virginia

A man sought since a robbery on April 24 has been taken into custody. Rodney White II was arrested last night in the Huntington West Virginia by U.S. Marshals.

White is charged with the robbery of the Blackburn Fuel Stop, where New Boston Police Captain Steve Goins said he walked into the store and pulled out a long blade knife and demanded money from the owner Gary Blackburn. White then reportedly fled from the store with money.

An arrest warrant was obtained for White on April 26 for aggravated robbery by NBPD and White was entered into the NCIC Crime Data Computer as a wanted fugitive.

In a related development Lawrence County, Ohio Sheriff Jeff Lawless, is reporting that on May 7, Rodney White robbed a Pizza Hut in Lawrence County with a weapon that turned out to be a toy gun and that his office also had arrest warrants for Rodney White.

White was taken to the West Regional Jail in Barboursville, West Virginia.

Within the next few days, White will be taken by West Virginia authorities before a Judge to see if he is willing to come back to Ohio and if not he will be extradited back to Ohio to face the aggravated robbery charges.
