Big Sandy Superstore is undergoing an expansion of their facility in Franklin Furnace that’s anticipated to create 20 jobs. The company is also opening two locations in Columbus.

Robert Van Hoose, Jr., CEO of Big Sandy, said in Franklin Furnace the company is adding 75,000 square feet onto their current warehouse in Franklin Furnace.

“(This) will allow us to handle the increase we look to have, when we add two locations in Columbus,” Van Hoose said.

With the addition to the warehouse the company will have a 225,000 square feet facility.

He said the company is looking forward to increasing the size of their company with a bigger warehouse and two new locations.

Van Hoose said there are still a lot of things to do before the expansion in Franklin Furnace is complete.

The company is anticipating the expansion to be complete around the first of April.

He said the total employment for the company should raise roughly 120 people with the opening of the two locations and the expansion, with roughly 20 of those jobs in Franklin Furnace.
