Scioto County Prosecutor Mark E. Kuhn has filed his Declaration of Candidacy nominating petitions with the Scioto County Board of Elections. Kuhn is seeking re-election as the county’s prosecuting attorney.

“I ran for office of prosecuting attorney with an approach that stressed that prosecutors should be honest, aggressive and fair in how they handled all criminal cases,” Kuhn said. “Over the last 11 years I have worked hard to seek lengthy prison sentences for violent offenders and drug traffickers, while also seeking to use the criminal justice system through drug courts and treatment intervention to turn addicts into productive members of our community.”

Kuhn was elected first in 2004 and has held that office ever since.

The Board of Elections records show no one else has filed to run for prosecutor and the deadline is Dec. 16.

Ohio’s primary election is March 15, 2016 and the general election is scheduled for Nov. 8, 2016.
