Impairment is suspected in a Saturday morning crash that resulted in an injury. Michael Gregory, 54, of Waverly was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, by MedFlight, following the wreck that occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The Portsmouth dispatch center of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a report of an injury crash on Wakefield Mound Road in Pike County and troopers responded to the scene.

According to the report from the Chillicothe Post of the OSHP, A 2002 Honda Accord, driven by Gregory, was traveling south on Wakefield Mound Road. He reportedly went off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. He was transported to Cabell Huntington by Medflight with non-incapacitating injuries.

Pike County EMS, Seal Township Fire Department, and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The report said impairment is suspected and the crash remains under investigation.

Troopers said motorists are reminded to never drink then drive and always look both ways more than once before entering or crossing a roadway.
