Hill View Retirement Center,1618 28th Street in Portsmouth, is taking an adventurous trip to Jungle Jim’s International Market in Eastgate Mall area of Cincinnati, and is extending an opportunity to the community to join them on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Bus transportation will depart at 8 am.

Angela Adams, Outreach Director at Hill View, said the trip to Jungle Jim’s International Market will provide a unique experience for participants. Jungle Jim’s is composed of more than 200,000 square feet of shopping space, and 180,000 products from which to choose.

“This is going to be one trip that is kind of unusual that I hope will spark the interest of the people in our community is a trip on November the 17th to Jungle Jim’s which is in the Eastgate community, which is a suburb of Cincinnati,” Adams said. “We are going to go there first, and then we will be going to eat at City Barbecue, which is a smaller chain of restaurants that serve a variety of things, but primarily barbecue. We will eat there for lunch.”

She said City Barbecue is popular among many of the residents at Hill View and others in the local community.

“It seems to be an Ohio favorite. A lot of people from around here have been to one, and they have several locations, and everybody loved it,” she said. “So, we chose City Barbecue for lunch, and then on our way back home we will be stopping at Keim Family Market, which is an Amish Market, and of course they specialize in all of the homemade selections of butters, cheese, and pastries, and those types of things.”

One advantage of taking part of the trip is that it is close to the Thanksgiving holiday.

“This trip is just one week before Thanksgiving, so this gives participants an opportunity to look ahead, and may come in contact with some things that they may want to purchase for the holiday time to enjoy with their family,” she said. “So, there are a couple of different opportunities to go to some places that are unique.”
