Raison to speak at Hill View

In accordance with October being National Fire Prevention Month, Hill View Retirement Center will feature Chief Bill Raison, of the Portsmouth Fire Department who will speak on the topic of Fire Safety. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. in the Hill View 1610 28th Street in Portsmouth in the Forest Room of the facility.

Angela Adams, outreach director at Hill View Retirement Center, said they are looking forward to having Raison as a guest speaker.

“Fire Chief Bill Raison will be coming here to talk with residents and members of the community that would like to attend about the importance of fire safety,” Adams said. “This of course, is National Fire Safety Month, and are looking forward to having the Chief to give us as much information and tips to ensure safety as possible.”

Raison possesses more than 25 years of experience in public service. He began his fire service career with the Portsmouth Fire Department in June 1991 and has served in the capacity of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Fire Inspector and Fire Investigator. He was promoted to Fire Chief in January 2008.

A complimentary lunch is available before the presentation in the Oak Dining Room at 12 p.m. Reservations for lunch must be made by Oct. 19. Seating is limited.
