If the title “Coffee Networking” just sounds like something that might interest you, here’s an invitation to join a discussion on social media platforms sponsored by Main Street Portsmouth on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 8-9 a.m. at Coffee @ the Lofts in Portsmouth.

Jacquelyn Shiveley and Hayley Burchett of the Portsmouth Unplugged Marketing Website will explore digital advertising and social media platforms and how they pertain to today’s small businesses.

The Coffee Networking is a project of the Business Enhancement committee. The organization lists as its mission to bring together local merchants in a networking environment with a topic of discussion.

“Main Street Portsmouth is dedicated to the revitalization and beautification of downtown Portsmouth,” Main Street Portsmouth Director Sarah Surina said. “Through the national Main Street four-point approach of design, promotion, business enhancement and organization, Main Street Portsmouth can use this as a guideline to help bring downtown Portsmouth back to life.”

Surina said the event is open to the public and it is free.

“The purpose of the event is to bring together local merchants in a networking atmosphere,” Surina said. “To recognize one another and to meet and greet people who work in the community.”

She said MSP will have one such event in each quarter.
