The Scioto County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of one of the two women sought since a kidnapping incident in January of 2014. Stacy Lewis, 32, of Peebles was arrested without incident Wednesday at a residence on Main Street in West Portsmouth. The sheriff’s office was and is seeking the help of the public in locating the second of the two women s Shellie Bennett, 36, whose last known address is 196 Fairview Ave., West Portsmouth.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office has been looking for the two who were wanted in connection with a kidnapping and felonious assault that took place on Jan. 19, 2014 in Lucasville.

Donini said both females were interviewed and charges were presented to the Scioto County grand jury which resulted in an indictment warrant being issued.

Deputies and detectives are currently looking for Bennett. Authorities had originally sought three people in connection with an alleged rape, abduction and assault. The third person, Kenneth Jason Altman, 36, of West Portsmouth, had, for a time, been a fugitive, but was subsequently arrested by Portsmouth native, Chris Bihl of the Cincinnati Police Department. Altman was, at the time, in the hospital at Cincinnati Medical Center and he had been shot in the leg.

According to the sheriff’s office, a woman alleged she was raped, abducted and assaulted by Altman with the assistance of Lewis and Bennett.

Donini said anyone with information regarding the case should contact Detective Daniel Malone at 740-351-1099. All calls will remain anonymous.
