Editors note; Rhonda Murray is being featured as a part of the women in business section. The first half of the features appeared in the 10/30/15 edition of the Daily Times.

Rhonda Murray, a familiar face at the office of Dr. Tracy Murray, DDS at 1010 Gallia Street in Portsmouth, is not at a loss for words when she is asked to describe what is different about her husband, Dr. Tracy Murray’s practice.

“He is about the only dentist around here that does the same-day treatment and offers same-day appointments,” Rhonda Murray said. “A lot of the dentists won’t see you the same day. He does. That’s what makes him stand out from everyone else. All of of the dentists are closed on Friday, but he is open.”

Murray has been at his current location for 18 years. Prior to that, he worked out of the office of Dr. George Long, DDS.

“We don’t specialize in anything like pediatrics,” Rhonda Murray said. “We do a full range of dentistry for everyone.”

There are two special days each year in which Rhonda Murray says Dr. Tracy Murray looks forward to giving of his talents to the community. Murray is best known for the annual Free Day of Dentistry which was his 8th consecutive year of doing to this year. He offers free dental work especially for those who may not have dental insurance or who have not been to a dentist in recent years.

The other special day is the Christ’s Community Church Single’s Fair in which he again offers free dental care. That event is usually held the first Saturday in August.

Murray employs 13 women at his practice and he has the latest up-to-date equipment and training.

“He has the newest technology out there,” Murray said. “All of his equipment is high-tech. We have computers in every room. We have televisions in every room. We have cameras in every room. He is up on all of that.”

Murray said, anyone can make an appointment by calling 740-354-3368. They are open Monday and Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed on Wednesday, Thursday they are open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday.

“He stays open on Monday and Tuesday to accommodate evening hours so he can get people who are working,” Murray said. “He also has 7 (a.m.) o’clock appointments for teeth cleaning for people before they go to work.”
